
Following a period of border closures due to bilateral tensions, a convoy of 704 trucks carrying essential food supplies and humanitarian aid from various nations has successfully crossed the Torkham border from Pakistan into Afghanistan to reach those in desperate need.
As Afghanistan faces the compounding effects of earthquakes, climate-driven disasters, and a massive influx of returnees from neighboring countries, approximately 14 million people—including a significant number of children—are suffering from acute hunger and malnutrition. Despite the critical need, aid delivery efforts have encountered substantial obstacles as regional instability and conflicts in the Middle East have disrupted several primary supply routes.
