In a strategic move to bolster its fleet, the national airline, Maldivian, has signed an agreement with De Havilland Canada to acquire two latest-generation Twin Otter Classic 300-G aircraft. Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas highlighted that this marks the first time a Maldivian airline has ordered this specific model. As these aircraft are specifically designed to suit the Maldivian environment, they are expected to significantly enhance the airline’s seaplane operations and elevate service standards. This acquisition also represents the first expansion of the company’s seaplane fleet since 2018.
