According to the latest statistics from the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), revenue generated from Airport Development Fee (ADF) and Departure Tax during the first five months of this year reached MVR 1.8 billion, marking a 21.1% increase compared to the same period last year. Specifically, Departure Tax contributed MVR 928 million to the total, while Airport Development Fee accounted for MVR 942 million. These taxes, levied on passengers departing from the Maldives, do not apply to diplomats, transit passengers, or children under the age of two.
