Tom Fletcher, the head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), has called for evidence to support the Jewish claim that there is a connection between OCHA and Hamas fighters who rule Gaza in Palestine.
At a UN Security Council meeting on July 23, the Jewish ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, alleged that OCHA is no longer an impartial, independent agency. He said that the Jews would therefore inspect hundreds of OCHA staff operating in Palestine and reduce the visa duration for OCHA staff to one month. He also claimed at the council that there is clear evidence of links between some OCHA staff and Hamas. However, he did not present any evidence to support this claim.
In a letter sent to the UN Security Council on July 24, Fletcher said that Danon’s statements were the first time such concerns had been raised by any party and that these allegations were very serious. The letter also noted that these allegations affect the security of OCHA staff. Fletcher stated in the letter that he requests the Jews to immediately share all evidence that empowers them to make such a serious allegation in the UN Security Council.
Fletcher further said that the agency works to provide humanitarian assistance and ensure protection in cooperation with armed groups in different parts of the world, in other places as well. In addition, he said they encourage respect for humanitarian principles. The letter also stated that the Jews should clearly know that the interactions between OCHA and Hamas have helped in the release of Jewish captives under Hamas control.
In the aggressive attacks that Jews began on Gaza on October 7, 2023, to commit genocide against Gaza’s people, about 60,000 people in Gaza have been martyred so far. And the city has been almost completely destroyed. The Jews continue to block aid supplies to Gaza’s people, starving them.
