It has been revealed that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was injured in a series of terrorist attacks carried out by Israelis on June 15th in an attempt to assassinate him. An Iranian official, disclosing this information, stated that Pezeshkian was wounded in a terrorist attack by Israelis on a building where a meeting of the National Security Council was taking place. This was an attack intended to martyr him. An unnamed senior Iranian government official said that the Israelis had attempted to assassinate the leaders of Iran’s three branches of government. “There will be no way for Israel to avoid paying the price [for their attempts to assassinate Pezeshkian and the leaders of the three branches of government],” the official said.

The Iranian official also mentioned that in addition to Pezeshkian, the Speaker of Parliament and the Chief Justice were present in the building targeted by the Israeli attack. Pezeshkian himself had previously revealed that Israelis had attempted to assassinate him. However, he did not disclose further details about the incident. “They tried [to martyr me], yes… but it failed. It wasn’t the Americans who tried to take my life. Israel was behind it. I was in a meeting at the time. They bombed the area where the meeting was taking place,” Pezeshkian said in an interview given last week to the popular American podcast, ‘The Tucker Carlson Show’.

Israelis began launching terrorist attacks on Iran on June 13th. Among these attacks, many were aimed at assassinating Iranian government officials, leaders of the three branches of government, senior military commanders, and nuclear scientists. The attempt to assassinate Pezeshkian targeted a government office building in the capital, Tehran. At the time, a meeting of the National Security Council was taking place on a lower floor of the building. Iranian media reported that Israelis had launched missile attacks on the accessible doors of the building.

The Iranian official said that Pezeshkian suffered injuries to his feet in the attack. However, no one’s life was in danger. All participants in the National Security Council meeting managed to evacuate the building using an emergency exit. Iranian media also reported that an investigation is underway as it is suspected that Israeli spies were among those who had information about the meeting.

In response to the Israeli attacks, Iran has also launched powerful attacks on Zionist settlements using dangerous ballistic missiles and military drones, killing many and causing significant urban damage. The United States, in solidarity with Israel, also launched terrorist attacks targeting Iran on June 22nd.

These attacks were ordered by President Donald Trump, Israel’s biggest supporter. In retaliation, Iran attacked a U.S. military base in Qatar. The exchange of attacks between Iran and Israel was suspended after 12 days following Iran’s attack on the U.S. military base.
