Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Abdullah Mutalib has stated that the process of signing flat agreements will begin next week with proper arrangements. The minister said this while responding to a question from a member of the public at the “Ahaa” forum. The Housing Minister had previously stated that the process of signing flat agreements would begin in the first week of July. However, the public has been expressing concerns due to the delay in this work.
Responding to a question at the Ahaa forum regarding this matter, Housing Minister Dr. Abdullah Mutalib said that they are reviewing the issues and complaints submitted regarding the flats and compiling a list of people who are confirmed to receive flats without any issues. The minister said that this process is taking a long time because it takes many days to verify the authenticity of the submitted information. He explained that this information is verified through various relevant government institutions, which takes a considerable amount of time.
The minister said that the arrangements for carrying out the signing process are also not an easy task to conduct at their ministry office, so special arrangements need to be made to proceed with the signing work. He stated that all these tasks are progressing simultaneously, and as promised by the government, the process of signing agreements will begin within this month. “With all these tasks, we will start the process of signing agreements next week. Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation is carrying that out. As stated before, the process of signing agreements and handing over flats will proceed this month,” said Housing Minister Dr. Abdullah Mutalib.

Due to significant concerns regarding how flats were allocated in the 4000 housing units “Gedhoruverin” project, this government formed a special committee to review how this work was carried out. The list released by the committee showed that many people did not meet the criteria, so those individuals were given the opportunity to respond and submit complaints. The government is now reviewing the complaints received for that list.
This government has not compiled a new list related to the flats. The government is examining whether the individuals included in the list released by the previous government on November 15, 2023, meet the criteria.
