The Minister also mentioned that the two countries have collaborated in the investment sector. “It’s worth noting that various Maldivian businesses have established themselves in Singapore. About 50 businesses have been set up. I invite Singaporean investors to also invest in businesses in the Maldives,” the Minister said.

The Singaporean Minister stated that Singapore is advanced in urban planning, construction, and digital services, and that the Maldives could also benefit from these sectors. She added that the two countries could strengthen ties and work together in the areas of environment, sustainable development, and investment.

The Maldives Business Forum in Singapore was held as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s official visit to Singapore. Business forums are being held in various countries around the world to attract investors to the Maldives. The government describes this as an important effort to bring rapid progress to the Maldives in various sectors and to diversify the economy.
