A large number of people have been killed in ongoing Israeli attacks on Iran. The Israeli attacks began in the early hours of Friday morning. In attacks targeting military and nuclear facilities, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard chief Hossein Salami, Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri, and the Emergency Command commander were killed. Additionally, six nuclear scientists were also killed.

A newspaper unofficially linked to the Iranian government reported that 78 people were killed and 329 injured in Israeli attacks on civilian areas. In retaliation, Iran launched over 100 drone attacks using Shahed drones. Israel claims to have intercepted all the drones. Israel was able to intercept Iran’s attacks with significant assistance from Jordan. Jordan’s Royal Air Force and air defense systems have confirmed intercepting Iranian drones and missiles that entered Jordanian airspace.

Even after Iran’s retaliatory attack, Israel has launched further attacks on Iran. These new attacks have targeted Tabriz in northwestern Iran.

This escalation marks a significant intensification of the conflict between Iran and Israel, with both sides engaging in direct military actions against each other. The high number of casualties, including senior military and scientific personnel, as well as civilians, indicates the severity of the situation. The involvement of other regional countries, such as Jordan, in intercepting attacks also highlights the broader implications of this conflict for the Middle East region.
