
Bank of Maldives has launched ATM service in Sh. Noomaraa. The ATM service in Noomaraa was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Cities and Administrative Divisions and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, at a special ceremony held on the island. The ceremony was attended by BML CEO Mohamed Shareef, senior bank officials, and members of the island council. To mark the launch of the ATM service in Noomaraa, Minister Adam Shareef withdrew cash from the ATM. After inaugurating the ATM, BML presented a commemorative plaque to the Noomaraa Council.
Speaking at the ATM service launch ceremony, Minister of State for Cities and Administrative Divisions and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar said that the purpose of installing ATMs is to provide easy access to banking services in line with the President’s pledge. The Minister also noted that the hardships previously faced by many Maldivians in withdrawing cash are now coming to an end. The ATM installed in Noomaraa is a self-service ATM that provides 24-hour cash withdrawal and deposit services. As part of launching ATM services in all islands of Sh. Atoll, it has been arranged to start services on 10 islands in this phase. With this, ATM services will be established on all islands of this atoll.
As part of the project jointly carried out by Bank of Maldives and the government to provide ATM services on all inhabited islands of the Maldives, ATM services have already been launched on all inhabited islands of Ha. Atoll, Dh. Atoll, N. Atoll, M. Atoll, and K. Atoll. Bank of Maldives aims to install ATMs on more than 100 islands within this year.
