The Ministry of Health has stated that the specialized aircraft for transporting patients in medical emergencies has so far transported 540 patients.
The air ambulance flight is a Maldivian aircraft.
In line with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge, the air ambulance service was launched in the Maldives on March 1st.
The Ministry of Health said today that since the launch of the air ambulance service, 437 trips have been made, transporting 540 patients.
Strengthening the health sector and providing convenient services to the citizens is one of the most important policies included in President Dr. Muizzu’s agenda.
President Muizzu’s vision is to arrange for easy transportation of patients by air ambulance both within the Maldives and abroad. It is also the government’s policy to arrange for Maldivians to receive medical services in neighboring countries as well as in countries like Dubai and Thailand, and to establish quick arrangements for transporting patients by air ambulance from the Maldives to these countries as well.
