
Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, has stated that the value of the US Dollar in the black market has seen a significant decline compared to the rates observed when the current administration took office. This positive shift is attributed to the government’s strategic interventions and legislative amendments aimed at curbing the illicit currency market. While the government continues its relentless efforts to address issues such as illegal foreign exchange trading and high-premium salary disbursements, operations conducted by enforcement agencies have uncovered that seven entities, including certain resorts and political figures, had traded approximately 76 million dollars within the black market.
