The Maldives national football team is set to compete in a series of friendly matches against three formidable opponents during the upcoming international break. The team is currently preparing to travel to China for a fixture scheduled for either the 23rd or 24th of this month. Notably, the Maldives has faced China six times previously, resulting in defeats in all encounters.
In addition to the match against China, the Maldives will face Kyrgyzstan on the 28th of this month, followed by a match against Lebanon on October 1st. These fixtures against higher-ranked opponents are part of the Football Association of Maldives’ (FAM) strategic efforts to provide the national team with high-level competitive experience and to elevate the overall standard of Maldivian football.
