Six foreign nationals involved in the unauthorized trading of foreign currency have been taken into custody during a joint operation conducted by the Maldives Police Service and Maldives Immigration. Investigations reveal that over the past three years, these individuals have processed more than MVR 54 million and USD 1.6 million through their accounts. Furthermore, authorities have identified that some individuals and businesses have facilitated these illicit activities by providing access to their accounts. The police have issued a stern warning that legal action will be taken against any party found complicit in such unlawful transactions.
