MWSC is preparing to launch a pioneering project by mid-next year to produce desalinated water using a specialized plant submerged 500 meters below sea level, in collaboration with a Norwegian company. This initiative leverages deep-sea pressure to significantly reduce energy consumption and ensure a higher quality of water, while simultaneously addressing the challenges of land scarcity for industrial facilities. Furthermore, the company is in discussions with the government to install a water pipeline across the Thilamalé Bridge to facilitate the supply of water between Malé and Hulhumalé.
