Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen, has engaged in high-level discussions with Russia’s State Secretary of Transport, Dmitry Zverev, in Moscow to strengthen bilateral transport ties and increase flight frequencies between the two nations. Minister Ameen expressed optimism that these deliberations would lead to an expansion of air services, thereby boosting tourist arrivals to the Maldives. Russia currently stands as the second-largest source market for Maldivian tourism, with over 130,000 Russian tourists visiting the archipelago so far this year.
