Led by Tourism Minister Mohamed Ameen, a high-level delegation comprising government officials and industry leaders has embarked on a five-day official visit to Russia to enhance bilateral cooperation in tourism and aviation. During the visit to Moscow and Saint Petersburg, the delegation will engage in discussions with Russian government representatives, tour operators, and key business stakeholders. The primary focus of these meetings and networking events is to expand flight capacity, intensify destination marketing efforts, and strategize for the upcoming ‘Visit Maldives Year 2027’ initiative. As Russia remains the second-largest source market for Maldivian tourism, this mission is expected to further solidify the strategic partnership and boost arrivals from this vital market.
