The box office competition between the two Bollywood films released to coincide with India’s Independence Day, “Awarapan 2” and “Batwara 1947,” has intensified significantly. Emraan Hashmi’s “Awarapan 2,” a low-budget production depicting the rescue of a child from a human trafficking network, achieved substantial success in its first two days, grossing over 72 crore rupees at the global box office. Conversely, Sunny Deol’s high-budget historical drama “Batwara 1947,” which explores themes of humanity during the 1947 Partition, experienced a slower start on its opening day. However, following positive critical acclaim, the film showed remarkable growth on the second day, accumulating over 26 crore rupees to date. Industry experts anticipate that the rivalry between these two films will strengthen in the coming days.
