Speaking at the official function held to mark National Day, Minister Heena Waleed stated that the foremost priority today should be reflecting on our national responsibilities. The Minister highlighted the importance of reviving the memories of the Jihad and sacrifices of Dhon Bandaarain (Al-Ghaazi Muhammad Thakurufaanu), emphasizing that every citizen must take responsibility for safeguarding the nation’s independence and security.
In her remarks, the Minister expressed gratitude for the initiatives taken by the President to revitalize national identity. She noted that the most significant responsibility today is to steer the characteristics of our nationalism in the right direction. Furthermore, Minister Heena urged the youth to embody national values, maintain unity and trust, and prioritize the defense of national sovereignty by drawing lessons from the past.
