The Maldives welcomed 55,834 tourists during the first eight days of this month, representing a 5.6% growth compared to the same period last year. Although arrival figures had experienced a slowdown since March due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, August has commenced with promising statistics, maintaining a daily average of over 6,000 visitors.
To date, the Maldives has recorded a total of 1.2 million tourist arrivals this year, with the highest number of visitors originating from China, Russia, and the United Kingdom. While the majority of these travelers opted for resort stays, a significant number of visitors also utilized guesthouses, hotels, and safari vessels for their holidays.
