In an effort to foster a healthy, disease-free community, a major cleaning event was conducted at the “Aman Udhares” area in Hulhumalé Phase 2 under the “Madhirin Rakka” (Mosquito Protection) campaign. This collaborative initiative, involving HDC, FDC, the Maldives Police Service, WAMCO, and MOPA, is part of an ongoing series of activities aimed at maintaining Hulhumalé as a clean and waste-free environment.
Beyond the elimination of mosquito breeding sites and fogging operations, plans are underway to transform the area into a recreational space featuring children’s play areas and pleasant social parks. Furthermore, authorities have confirmed that surveillance camera systems will be utilized to monitor the area and identify individuals engaging in illegal waste disposal, with legal action to be taken against such offenders to ensure the continued cleanliness of the vicinity.
