MIFCO has officially begun providing ice to fishermen following the establishment of a 25-ton daily capacity ice plant in Kanduoiygiri. In addition to this, a fish processing facility capable of producing 3 tons of dried fish per day has been inaugurated on the island, where fish cooking and packing operations are now underway. MIFCO aims to further expand its operations in Kanduoiygiri. Simultaneously, the government is working to strengthen the nation’s fishing infrastructure by increasing the existing cold storage capacity from 9,500 tons to 25,000 tons.
