The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has officially mobilized physical works for the development of a Cultural Center in B. Thulhaadhoo. This project is a key initiative under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s vision to bolster national productivity and revitalize Maldivian cultural heritage.
Valued at MVR 24.4 million, the two-story facility has reached a significant milestone with the completion of its foundation, and work is currently progressing on the structural columns. Upon completion, the center is set to become a hub for heritage preservation, hosting specialized training programs dedicated to Thulhaadhoo’s world-renowned traditional lacquer work (Liyelaa Jehun) and various other local handicrafts.
