The number of tourist arrivals from Australia to the Maldives has seen a significant 16% increase compared to the previous year, propelling the country to the 9th position among the Maldives’ top source markets. With 20,878 Australian tourists recorded as of the 6th of this month, the national carrier, Maldivian, has responded to this growth by launching direct flight operations between Melbourne and the Maldives. These weekly flights are projected to bring in an additional 11,000 tourists annually, serving as a major catalyst for the further expansion of the Australian market.
