Ahead of their clash against the Maldives in the Diamond Jubilee Football Tournament, Afghanistan’s head coach, José Antonio, stated that he is well aware of the Maldives’ caliber and anticipates a challenging encounter. He highlighted several key advantages for the Maldivian side, including playing on their home turf, the celebratory spirit of the 75th anniversary of Maldivian football, and their extensive month-long preparation period. Expressing deep respect for Maldivian football legend Ali Ashfaq, the coach also noted that the Afghan squad only managed to train as a complete unit after arriving in the Maldives. While the Afghanistan team features players competing in various European leagues, tonight’s match, scheduled for 21:00, will be broadcast live on PSM channels.
