The Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has announced that the physical development of Hdh. Naagoashi into a luxury resort is progressing rapidly, following its commencement in the first quarter of this year. After comprehensive revisions were made to the project’s master plan—which had been stalled for a significant period—current onsite activities include the mobilization of construction materials, installation of the electrical power grid, landscaping, and the final stages of constructing mock-up rooms.
Financed through the Bank of Maldives (BML), the initial phase of this ambitious project involves the development of 183 guest rooms. MTDC aims to officially inaugurate the resort by early next year. The opening of Naagoashi is expected to generate approximately 600 employment opportunities, providing a substantial economic boost to the entire Haa Dhaalu Atoll.
