The Ministry of Health has announced a tender seeking qualified parties for the construction of laboratory facilities in the health centers of 15 islands across the Maldives. This initiative is a significant project undertaken as part of the government’s policy to ensure that laboratory services are accessible in every inhabited island.
Interested parties are required to complete their registration by the 8th of next month. It is noteworthy that laboratory services have already been inaugurated in 18 islands during the course of this year. The government’s ultimate objective is to establish these services in 76 islands that currently lack such facilities, thereby eliminating the necessity for residents to travel to other islands for diagnostic testing. This expansion is expected to facilitate early disease detection and contribute to the development of a healthier society.
