Mindko, in partnership with the Bank of Maldives (BML), has officially launched the “Maldives AI Lab,” the nation’s first AI and Data Competence Center. This landmark initiative is a key component of the “Maldives 2.0” digital transformation agenda, aimed at enhancing governance and the business sector through the integration of Artificial Intelligence. The center was inaugurated by the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan.
As part of this initiative, a four-day program titled “Co.Lab 26” is being conducted to establish national guidelines for AI usage and to develop digital solutions for government operations and the fintech sector. The program includes a hackathon focused on nurturing local talent, strengthening cybersecurity, and enhancing data-driven decision-making capabilities. This strategic partnership is expected to drive significant advancements in the Maldivian economy and public services through the application of AI technology.
