The Elections Commission has announced that the second round of voting for constituencies that resulted in a tie during the Local Council and Women’s Development Committee elections, held on the 4th of this month, will take place on Saturday, the 18th. Commission President Mohamed Zahid stated that the election saw a record voter turnout and was conducted in a free and fair manner. While the Commission is currently addressing 170 complaints filed regarding the election, a 14-day period has been opened for any dissatisfied parties to contest the Commission’s decisions at the High Court.
