The Deputy Managing Director of Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), Ibrahim Shahid, has been dismissed from his position at the government’s request. This decision is part of a series of administrative changes within state-owned enterprises and diplomatic circles following the government’s recent electoral setbacks.
In addition to this change, several other high-level officials have been removed, including the Managing Directors of FENEKA, AgroNet, and MPL. Diplomatic shifts have also been seen with the removal of the Ambassador to the UAE and the Permanent Representative to Geneva. President Dr. Muizzu has stated that these adjustments are being made to reform government operations in alignment with public sentiment and expectations.
