As part of the project to modernize Boduthakurufaanu Magu, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has officially commenced the construction of the quay wall. This development covers a 700-meter stretch extending from the Henveiru Ferry Terminal to the Izzuddin Jetty. A key component of the project involves the installation of a 610-meter new sheet-piled quay wall, which is essential for the planned widening of the road.
The scope of the modernization project includes asphalt paving, the installation of an efficient drainage system, the construction of pavements, and the setup of street lighting. It has been noted that no structural changes will be made to the Fishermen’s Park area during this phase. Once completed, the project will significantly expand road capacity, providing a substantial improvement to the city’s transport network and traffic flow.
