MTCC has announced that 73 percent of the Sh. Funadhoo coastal protection project has been completed, with the entire project expected to be finalized by the end of June. Current works involve the construction of revetments, land reclamation, and beach nourishment. Once completed, this initiative will provide a permanent solution to the ongoing beach erosion issues in Funadhoo. Furthermore, the government has planned additional development projects for this island, which is home to approximately 2,500 residents.
