
Samooh Ali, the captain of the Maldives National Senior Team, has called upon as many supporters as possible to attend the stadium and cheer for the young Maldivian side competing in this year’s SAFF U-20 Championship held in the Maldives. Samooh highlighted that the current squad comprises highly talented players who deserve national encouragement.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from the 23rd of this month to the 3rd of April. The Maldives is placed in Group A, alongside Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Nepal. The Maldivian team will face Sri Lanka in their opening match next Monday night. Head coach István Urbányi and assistant coach Ahmed Shakir are currently working extensively to strengthen the team ahead of the competition.
