Maldivian, the national airline, has officially resumed direct flight services between Malé and Dhaka, Bangladesh. These flights are scheduled to operate twice weekly, every Thursday and Sunday, with round-trip fares starting from USD 399. The service was previously suspended due to the political unrest in Bangladesh.

The resumption of these flights, strategically timed to coincide with the holy month of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid holidays, is expected to provide significant ease of travel for both Maldivians and the Bangladeshi expatriate community residing in the Maldives. In addition to its existing operations across various destinations in India and China, Maldivian currently maintains a fleet of 26 aircraft.
