
The Maldives Police Service has confirmed that Ahmed Amir (commonly known as Booga), who was summoned for questioning regarding a case of blasphemy against Islam, failed to appear at the scheduled time. A public notice for his appearance was issued on the 24th of last month, following allegations that he used social media to insult Islam and disseminate content that undermines religious unity.
Regarding the individual, who is currently residing abroad, the police stated that they will determine the subsequent legal steps as the investigation progresses. It is noted that this individual has a history of publicly mocking and making derogatory remarks concerning religious matters.
