In response to aviation disruptions caused by the ongoing Middle East conflict, Visit Maldives has successfully organized a total of eight repatriation flights to facilitate the return of stranded tourists to their home countries. To ensure the safety and well-being of these travelers, a dedicated help desk has been established at Velana International Airport in collaboration with the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and the Ministry of Tourism, providing essential assistance to those affected. Furthermore, to mitigate the potential impact on the industry, targeted marketing campaigns have been launched in key markets such as India, China, and Russia. Additionally, the corporation is in the process of developing a comprehensive ‘Crisis Response Strategy’ to better prepare for and manage similar future emergencies.
