President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has emphasized that holding the Presidential and Parliamentary elections concurrently is a vital step for the nation. Speaking at a political event in Addu City, the President stated that synchronizing these elections would enhance public participation and bolster the country’s democratic framework. He further highlighted that the proposal to conduct a public referendum for this constitutional change aligns with the Constitution. According to the President, this shift is expected to foster political stability and eliminate administrative hurdles, thereby ensuring more effective governance.
