In a significant political shift, several high-ranking members of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) from Addu City officially joined the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) last night. The new members include Ahmed Adhuham, the former President of MDP’s Addu branch, alongside several key figures from the Feydhoo constituency and a member of the Women’s Development Committee (WDC). President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu personally received the membership forms from these individuals during a special ceremony held in Malé.

The event also marked the official unveiling of the PNC’s “The Greater Addu” manifesto, which includes a commitment to establish a dedicated innovation center within the city. Addressing the gathering, President Muizzu urged the residents of Addu to elect candidates in the upcoming local council elections who are prepared to cooperate with the administration to ensure the successful implementation of government-led development projects.
