President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, who also serves as the President of the People’s National Congress (PNC), has announced that the party’s national congress is scheduled to take place this coming October. The President made this announcement while addressing a PNC gathering held at Artificial Beach. During his remarks, President Dr. Muizzu emphasized that the PNC will operate as a unified team, prioritizing the interests of the citizens. He further noted that the PNC is a party that fully adheres to the multi-party system and is committed to fostering democracy and strengthening the political framework.
The President stated that the party’s leadership has officially decided to hold the congress in October, highlighting it as a significant opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their political careers within the party. “By the will of Almighty Allah, this congress will be conducted with the utmost fairness and transparency. As is our standard practice, the party will handle all matters in a highly organized, systematic, and transparent manner,” President Dr. Muizzu stated.
Additionally, the President highlighted the party’s rapid growth, noting that while the PNC’s membership stood at approximately 3,000 in November 2023, it has now surged to 75,000 members. He further expressed the party’s ambitious target of expanding its membership to over 100,000.
