
Despite the global challenges currently facing the aviation industry, Visit Maldives (VMC) is actively engaged in numerous initiatives to sustain the growth of the Maldivian tourism sector. As part of these efforts, eight repatriation flights were organized to assist tourists who were stranded due to travel disruptions, and a dedicated help desk was established at the airport to provide essential support.
Furthermore, specialized campaigns have been launched targeting key markets with fewer travel restrictions, such as China, India, and Russia. Discussions are also underway with various airlines to increase flight frequencies to the Maldives. Additionally, VMC is in the process of formulating a comprehensive “Crisis Response Strategy” to ensure a high level of preparedness for any future challenges that may arise.
