According to various sources, Russia is sharing intelligence with Iran, including target coordinates and the locations of U.S. warships and aircraft operating in the Middle East. While the full extent of Russia’s assistance remains unclear, reports of this cooperation have intensified as the Iranian military faces challenges in tracking U.S. assets following recent joint military strikes by the U.S. and Israeli forces against Iran.
The heavy bombardments carried out by the United States and Israel have resulted in over 1,000 casualties, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several members of his family. In response to these aggressions, Iran has launched continuous retaliatory strikes targeting the Zionist state and U.S. military bases across various Middle Eastern countries. These Iranian strikes have resulted in the deaths of at least six U.S. service members. U.S. President Donald Trump has cautioned that further American casualties are possible in the coming days. Meanwhile, the Kremlin has confirmed ongoing communications with Iranian leadership but declined to comment specifically on whether they are providing direct military assistance.
The conflict involving Iran has also yielded strategic benefits for Russia. Demand for Russian oil and gas has surged during this period, providing Moscow an opportunity to offset the economic impact on its energy sector caused by the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Notably, the U.S. has previously provided similar intelligence support to Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.
