Amidst the escalating conflict in the Middle East, Iran has launched significant strikes targeting a U.S. military airbase in Qatar and the Israeli Embassy in Bahrain. These actions are reportedly in retaliation for strikes initiated on February 28th by the Israeli occupation forces in collaboration with the United States. Iran has been responding by targeting both Israeli interests and U.S. military installations across the region. Notably, on Thursday night, Iran launched a major attack on the building housing the Israeli Embassy in Manama, the capital of Bahrain. According to Reuters, a drone aimed at the facility was intercepted and downed.
In a formal statement, the Bahrain Defense Force confirmed that they have intercepted 143 drones and 78 missiles launched by Iran towards various locations within the kingdom. Due to the ongoing nature of these attacks, the Bahraini military has urged civilians to remain indoors and avoid leaving their homes unless absolutely necessary. As Iran has intensified its retaliatory measures over the past seven days, reports indicate that strikes have also been directed toward Turkey and Azerbaijan. Furthermore, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued warnings that they will further escalate attacks against U.S. military bases located in Kuwait.
Saudi Arabia has also reported neutralizing an Iranian missile strike aimed at the country’s central region, confirming that three drones heading towards the capital, Riyadh, were successfully intercepted. Additionally, reports from Doha, Qatar, indicate that powerful explosions were heard throughout the night. Media outlets suggest that these strikes targeted the Al-Udeid Air Base, which houses U.S. military personnel. Jordan has also announced the interception of three Iranian drones within its airspace.
