In a distinguished graduation ceremony, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has presented medals and awards to 31 individuals who have successfully memorized the Holy Quran. Marking a significant milestone, this ceremony saw the largest cohort of graduates to date, comprising 19 males and 12 females.
Reflecting the government’s profound commitment to advancing Quranic education, the monthly allowance for Hafizes has been increased to MVR 4,000. Furthermore, the administration has introduced prestigious incentives for the National Quran Competition, including special Presidential scholarships and substantial monetary prizes. The government has set an ambitious target to produce 500 Hafizes within the next five years. To achieve this objective, efforts are underway to establish branches of the National Centre for the Holy Quran across all islands and to develop a dedicated Waqf building to support these initiatives.
