Statistics released by the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) indicate that over MVR 4.8 million was disbursed to 136 fishing vessels that supplied their catch during the past week. The data shows that the highest volume of payments was processed on the 16th of this month, bringing the total disbursements to fishermen for the current month to MVR 16.6 million. As the government continues to prioritize the expansion and advancement of the fisheries industry, significant efforts are underway to bolster fish storage capacity and develop state-of-the-art processing facilities across the nation.
