Riffath Appointed as Member of the Elections Commission

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Uz. Riffath Abdulla as a member of the Elections Commission (EC). His appointment was approved by the People’s Majlis during its sitting held on the 17th of this month.

In a special ceremony held at the President’s Office, Uz. Riffath Abdulla took his oath of office and signed the declaration of appointment. The oath was administered by Honorable Justice Uz. Mohamed Saleem of the Supreme Court of the Maldives. During the ceremony, the President officially presented the letter of appointment to Uz. Riffath Abdulla.

The appointment was made following the expiration of the term of former commission member Dr. Mohamed Zahir. Prior to this appointment, Uz. Riffath Abdulla served as the Legal Counsel at the Maldives Hajj Corporation. He also previously held the position of Deputy Director of the Legal Department at the Elections Commission.

With the inclusion of Uz. Riffath Abdulla, the current members of the Elections Commission are President Mohamed Zahid, Vice President Abdul Rahman Salah Rasheed, and members Hassan Zakariyya and Abdul Haseeb Ismail.
