Under the government’s “Housing for All” policy, more than 5,000 applications have been submitted for land plots and flats to date. The majority of these applications, submitted via the “Hiyaavehi” portal, are for housing flats. This initiative aims to allocate 15,000 land plots and 7,900 flats, with specific eligibility categories defined for both registered residents of Malé and individuals from other islands residing in the capital. Furthermore, the policy includes provisions allowing individuals to apply even if their spouse owns land, alongside special regulations for those who were previously awarded joint land plots under earlier schemes. The deadline for land plot applications is March 4, while the application window for flats will remain open until April 17.
