However, Liverpool eventually broke the deadlock in the seventh minute of stoppage time. The decisive goal came when Virgil van Dijk’s header was initially blocked by Ortega, allowing Mac Allister to seize the rebound and fire it into the net.
With this result, Liverpool currently sits in sixth place in the league standings with 45 points from 27 matches. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest remains in 17th position with 27 points.
