
The Maldives Police Service has announced that it will begin towing illegally parked vehicles on the streets of Malé starting this coming Monday. According to the authorities, the operation, scheduled to commence on the 23rd of this month, will target illegally parked vehicles, unregistered vehicles, and those registered to zones other than Zone A.
The Maldives Police Service has requested all owners to remove such vehicles from various locations in Malé by 23:30 on the 22nd of this month.
Furthermore, the police stated that any vehicles remaining after the specified deadline will be relocated to a designated impound area. The Maldives Police Service clarified that they will not be held liable for any damages incurred during the towing process or while the vehicles are kept at the designated site. Additionally, the responsibility for reclaiming and transporting the vehicles from the impound location rests solely with the respective owners.
