Significant infrastructural projects are currently in progress to drive the development of N. Kendhikulhudhoo. A key highlight is the upgrading of the island’s health centre into a 30-bed hospital. With the structural framework now complete, this facility is set to expand local healthcare services and reduce the financial burden on residents who previously had to travel elsewhere for medical treatment.
Furthermore, the Road Development Corporation (RDC) is working on transforming the island’s main roads by paving them with asphalt and installing modern infrastructure. Efforts to enhance maritime connectivity are also in full swing, with MTCC tasked with expanding the harbour and constructing two new jetties across the island’s two districts. In the field of education, work is underway to establish a junior college, aimed at providing higher education and vocational training opportunities for the island’s youth.
