President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu officially inaugurated Masjid Al-Yusuf Al-Barbary today during the Asr prayer time. This newly opened mosque is a three-story structure with the capacity to accommodate 1,400 worshippers. Following the ceremony, which was attended by several Cabinet Ministers, a congregational prayer was held at the mosque.

The construction of this mosque, which was outsourced to a private contractor, is part of the government’s ongoing initiative to expand prayer facilities across various regions of the country. Furthermore, as part of the efforts to redevelop older mosques in Malé, the physical work for Masjid-al-Salam in Villimalé and Zikra Mosque is scheduled to commence after the month of Ramadan.
