The Ministry of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works has announced that 53,895 households in the Greater Malé Area have collected the government-issued Ramadan gift of one case of canned tuna (containing 48 cans).
In the Malé region, the distribution is currently being facilitated through MIFCO outlets every night from 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM. While the initiative will continue until the first day of Ramadan, the Ministry noted that over 11,700 households in the capital are yet to collect their gifts.
Furthermore, in accordance with the President’s pledge, these canned tuna cases have already been dispatched to all inhabited islands across the Maldives.
